Ganden Monastery,
60km east of Lhasa, was first built in 1409, the 7 year during
the reign of Emperor Yong Le of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). At
least 10 buildings have been restored. Barley fields sprawl
across the valley flor, which looks splendid doted with small
villages. It takes 4 days to walk from the Ganden to Samye This
is one of the finest soft trek in central Tibet.
